Delta has collaborated with the CODESYS® Group to leverage its motion control development system and offer a brand new CODESYS-based motion control solution that integrates the control functions of PLCs, HMIs, and motion controllers into a single platform. It also supports EtherCAT communication for simultaneous control of field devices such as servo drives, AC motors and remote modules.

The AX-8 series uses the CODESYS motion control platform to achieve easy programming for complex motion control setups. It supports EtherCAT communications for high-speed motion control and connects other equipment or software via OPC UA. It is suitable for high-end motion systems and meets the requirements of intelligent manufacturing.

With the new AX-8 series, Delta adopted the well-known automation software package CODESYS, which is now integrated into the DIAStudio environment.

This new powerful tool called DIADesigner-AX offers many advantages for users and developers:

• Standard programming, meets international standards such as IEC61131-3 for PLC programming and PLCopen for motion control programming. All IEC languages ​​are supported, from Ladder Diagrams to Structured Text, including Object Oriented Programming (OOP) support.
• Integrated commissioning tools such as digital oscilloscope, data monitoring, breakpoints, diagnostics, online changes.
• Simulation mode for testing PLC/motion programs without physical target devices
• Planning and execution of both simple and complex motion control applications, including single-axis and multi-axis motions in accordance with the PLCopen standard
• Integrated graphical interface for creating E-CAM
• Planning and execution of CNC and Robotics applications
• DIADesigner-AX retains the typical tree structure of CODESYS projects: PLC programming, task configuration, hardware configuration and all other functionalities can be accessed in the same environment. This dramatically reduces training time, helping users quickly develop a complete motion control project.
• In addition, DIADesigner-AX includes some dedicated graphical tools for hardware, network and axis configuration to make the user experience even more user-friendly.
